About David's Family
California natives, David and Sharon have two children, Jono and Amy. David's family is close and loving, they enjoy spending time with family and friends. For as long as David can remember, coffee has always been loved in his family and shared in the presence of friends. Coffee was served at meals and any time when two or more were gathered together. Saturday mornings were especially enjoyed as David's parents began their weekend with the family around coffee with breakfast. As a child, David and his brothers would sit on their father's lap and ask for sips of coffee from his cup.

About Ryan's Family
Ryan and Sarah have three sons, Nolan, Nick and David. The Hamlin family has deep roots in Pasadena and Ryan and Sarah enjoy the fact that their extended families still live close enough for frequent visits. Ryan began enjoying coffee in high school but his earliest memories of his coffee experience are of watching his dad meticulously brewing with his Chemex coffee maker. He had a particular technique for pouring the water over the grounds to get the most flavor. The wonderful aroma would drift through the kitchen and fill the room. Ryan's passion for roasting coffee started when Sarah gave him some home roasting gear for his birthday. He was hooked immediately.

How we chose the name Jameson Brown
David & Ryan wanted to choose a name that had meaning and conveyed the importance of the history between their two families. Ryan's wife Sarah Brown had known David's family since birth and their parents were best friends.

In the early 50's David's father and mother were classmates and best friends with Sarah's parents Cathy & David Brown, who would later become Ryan's in-laws. David was named after David Brown, and later Ryan and Sarah named their youngest son David Bradley, after him as well.

David's wife, Sharon Jameson, is the other half of this equation. Years ago Sharon's Great Uncle Harley Jameson married Muriel Allen. Muriel was from the Allen family of Pasadena and whose family the street, Allen Ave. was named after. Our business is now located on Allen in Pasadena. When Ryan & David chose this location they did not know about this connection. How amazing!

David, Sharon, Ryan and Sarah have been close friends for many years now. Jameson Brown is a reflection of that friendship.

Pasadena has held a connection for the two families for many years. In 1900 Ryan's great grandfather was the mayor of Pasadena. And in 1983 his uncle was the President of the Tournament of Roses Association.

Both Ryan and David's families have long been known for making great coffee. Both David and Ryan are working hard to carry on the tradition.
