This place has tons of potential and I hope it grows into it. I've never seen a roaster at a coffee shop until Jameson Brown, which made me wonder: why not? It makes so much sense to have freshly roasted beans for your coffee.

I got a cafe latte with soy. Really tasty. Free wifi, laid back atmosphere, easy parking and close to the 210 freeway. It would do with a little more ambiance, but the coffee is worth the trip.

Love this place, been coming here since January 2008. I was getting off the Gold LIne Allen Station after a New Years Eve party in downtown. I had a long walk home at 2am without any cash and the owner's wife, Sharon, was awesome enough to give me coffee. Their down-home family style of running things has kept me coming back week after week.

They've added more manpower in September so they're open until 9pm now. Bands are now hosted in the evenings too. I've yet to go to one of the shows but I'm looking forward to an upcoming show.

Coffee is roasted daily on-premises and they will gladly explain the process if it's not too busy. I love the soy latte, americano, or french press when I'm in the mood.

I've lived in Los Angeles County for nine years but I grew up just south of Seattle, and this is only the second coffee shop I've found to rival the ones I grew up with.

The coffee is FANTASTIC. Get the drip or espresso, it doesn't matter. And lots of time their master roaster is in the store and you can ask him questions about what beans might be best for you. It's awesome.

Friendly service and a great mom 'n pop atmosphere. The roast the beans right in front of you in the bright red roaster in the middle of the room. the place it always packed with regular customers and I usually get caught up in fun conversations when I'm there.

They've recently added nice couches to the seating area and more electrical outlets for your laptop. That and the free wireless internet make it a great place for studying or work.

Jameson is an awesome coffee shop with by far the best coffee i've had in la. it's a perfect environment for me to do some reading, play on the computer, or connect with people. the baristas that i've met are all really friendly, passionate, and energetic. The unique thing about it was that everybody in the coffee shop seemed to know each other, and the moment someone walks in they're greeted by most people. theres a real sense of community there. right now there are no walls, so the roasting machine (or whatever it's called) is right behind the counter and the bags of beans are right behind that- so you see everything. if you're there when they roast, i recommend joining them behind the counter and watching them do their thing, it's pretty cool.

Friendly local place for coffee.

Family owned, roast their own beans - think their stuff is pretty good - like the local friendly atmosphere.   Recommend it if you like to get away from the big chain coffee places and get stuff that tastes way better.

Wonderful coffee, this is the place that opened up my world as to what freshly-roasted coffee should taste like.  The atmosphere is a bid drab, but the coffee is well worth it.  I've always received wonderful service, not sure what the two one-star reviews are talking about.

I spend a decent portion of my life in coffee shops, which would make you assume that I know a lot about coffee.  In that, you'd be wrong, because I know next to nothing about the coffee making process.

Recently, I spent the morning at Jameson Brown and everything changed.  First, this place is fairly new to the neighborhood, so I'm not sure how it will evolve over the years.  The decor is industrial loft-like, although they added a fireplace and seating around it to try and give it a more cozy feel.  Otherwise, the high ceilings and open-concept definitely give it the feel of a coffee roaster which serves coffee, versus the other way around.

The owners showed me their coffee selection process, their roasting techniques, how different methods lead to different flavors.  I learned more about coffee after an hour of talking with them than I ever knew before.

Their variety of coffee is impressive and their service is friendly and attentive.  Their pastry selection was decent, although it's clear that pastries are not their purpose.  The only drawback I noted was the lack of more comfortable seating.

Anyway, the owners have a true knowledge of the coffee roasting process.  They started out as two friends, roasting coffee beans on a home popcorn maker.  Their story of how that became Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters is pretty amazing.  Check out their website to learn more.  Suffice it to say, it involves life-long illness and dreams, a child's boldness, and The Dr. Phil Show.  I definitely recommend this locally owned business whose origins are inspiring.

I read about this place a couple days ago and I went to go try it on the weekend. They weren't open! But I went back today and had a GREAT iced Latte and my boss got an iced coffee. It is very clean and wide open. I can't wait to go back! They aren't crazy in prices like a Starbucks or any of those chains. If you like really good, fresh, strong coffee and cute place to sit next to a fire place, you have to try this place. Although they do have limited hours and may not be open at certain times you are jonsing for a coffee, i still love that they are totally family run. One of the younger sons made my latte! love it love it love it!!!
